MozTips: Learn to use the NeedleSearch toolbar.

To begin setting up the NeedleSearch toolbar, visit the search engine you'd like to add to it.
I use Google in this example.

Next, click on the "Auto add (off)" button to turn it on. It changes to "Auto add (on)". This tells NeedleSearch that you want it to configure itself, so that you can use NeedleSearch to quickly search this search engine in the future.

Then enter NeedleSearch into the search box.

Finally, click on the search button.
Now NeedleSearch will begin configuring itself to use this search engine in the future.
This will work with most search engines, such as Google, Alltheweb, Altavista and so on.
You can thus use NeedleSearch to quickly search any number of search engines, without visiting the search engines sites first.

You receive a confirmation that Google has been added to the NeedleSearch toolbar.

Try it out!

Choose Google from the NeedleSearch drop down list.

Enter what you are looking for (moztips in this example).

Click on the "Show" button, to search Google for moztips.

If the list of search results appears, you have just successfully used NeedleSearch!
